Located in the southeast region of Asia, the Phillipines (or more formally known as The Republic of) is a uniquely shaped group of 7,107 oddly shaped islands. Of these 7,000 some islands, only 1,000 are inhabited by people. Most who find their way to this area, are greeted by the friendly and laid back heir of the locals. Of the 85 million inhabitants, about 90% claim Christianity, but are trapped in lifestyles that are very different from the Truth of the gospel. Most Fillipinos who claim the Christian faith also practice ancient ancestral worship and do not understand the concept of “THE Way, THE Truth and THE Life” found in scripture. Drug abuse, child neglect, and spirit worship are common themes within this island.
Our God is bigger than the biggest oppression this desperate country is facing. He is screaming freedom louder than the cries of the neglected children and louder than the 40 million youth who are screaming for an identity larger than themselves. Can you hear them? They are crying out …
